A simple make for birthday cards from your little monkey

One brown painted handprint (body & legs), add on a tail and on another piece of card paint a brown circle with 2 smaller circles attached (head & ears). Add a piece of white/cream card for the inner face, googly eyes, draw your smile and cut the whole thing out. Stick the head across the thumb to make the monkey. Decorate with drawn or painted on leaves and your message
To make this one a bit special I bought a blank, record your own audio message, birthday card (£4.49) and stuck the image on the front. I recorded Baby saying "da-da-da" for her own personal message. It went down rather well.

Tips:
  • Old clothes for you and your little monkey are advisable, as is an assistant if theres one available
  • Getting a good handprint can take many attempts. I'd suggest doing your prints on card, then sticking this to your card front.
  • Getting an even coat of paint on the child's hand can be easier with a sponge depending on the paint you're using
