Every little princess wants  to live in that fairy tale castle. Paper cuts make great wall art for yourself or as a gift

This one was made as a wedding present for my best friend who is disney mad and was planning her honeymoon in Disneyland.

Start with a sheet of black card. Trace your outline on the reverse and carefully cut away the unneeded card. I use a Swann & Morton scalpel I bought online and a study cutting mat.

Tip:
  • If you can, leave your cut out and discard areas with a few connecting sections until you have finished all the delicate cutting. the bit you will eventually discard provides some added stability until you're ready to reveal
  • If you're using black card then a good light source is also handy to see where you've been
When you've finished your cutting carefully peel away your discard area leaving your silhouette ready to mount.

Add your favourite characters as sillhouettes or reliefs to give more detail. Their favourite films were Toy Story and Up so those were easy choices, and of course Cinderella and Prince Charming

To create an easy background use chalks onto white paper and spray with hairspray to stop the chalks then rubbing off.

Mount the whole thing with double sided tape into the frame and you have a castle fit for your prince or princess
